We had a fantastic day celebrating the 25th annual world book day. Children and staff came to school dressed as a fantastic word. We had children ‘incognito’ dressed all in black, some ‘magical’ and ‘mysterious’ wizards, ‘elegant’ princesses, ‘noble’ knights and much more besides- even a mouth-watering and sizzling sausage! We were really impressed with the vocabulary discussions had throughout the day. Of course, the main focus for World Book Day has to be a love of reading so we rang the bell throughout the day and asked children to ‘stop, drop and read’ and had a fantastic book swap at the end of the day where every child was able to take home at least one new book. Huge thanks to parents for their kind book donations and to the FOTS team for organising. We are well on our way to our fundraising for the playground book nook. Watch this space for more details on that!
