In God’s hands we are Truthful, We Persevere and we Aspire.
“Let all that you do be done in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:14
Thurston CE Primary Academy’s VISION is to empower all pupils through it’s Christian ethos, to embrace learning, achieve their personal best and build their emotional, social and physical well-being in a fully inclusive environment.
We shall achieve this through:
The vision identifies what the school aims to offer all pupils and the expectations the stakeholders have on one another in order to meet the expectations and thrive during the learning journey through Thurston CE Primary Academy.
We have high expectations of all our stakeholders – please follow the link to see the full vision.
We implement this vision in our school life through The Thurston Way, this links our Christian Values and our behaviour expectations and is used consistently in school by staff and pupils.

When creating the vision for the school, the Senior Leadership Team gathered pupil voice to give the pupils the opportunity to share how they feel about school and the ethos it has. The Senior Leadership Team were pleased with the positive results.

In 2022, the pupils of Thurston CE Primary Academy worked together to create their 51 Random Acts of Kindness. The chosen acts of kindness aim to put a smile on the faces of members of the school community and the wider community. The 51 Random Acts of Kindness link into looking out and helping one another but also links to looking after the environment. These acts of kindness are referred to regularly throughout the school day.
Parents are encouraged to send in pictures of their child completing the Random Acts of Kindness which is shared in school throughout the academic year. If parents would like their child to be part of sharing their kindness then please send pictures through the email 51Kindness@thurstonprimary.net

During a collective worship, children had the opportunity to discuss and share their ideas for what could be included in our school prayer. The children were asked think about our school values and The Thurston Way and what they felt was important to either be asking God for help with or thanking God for. We gathered the children’s ideas using the Padlet tool and then were able to create the prayers incorporating key words and phrases they had shared.
