School lunches are provided by Aspens.
Aspens offer a range of hot lunches, including jacket potatoes, as well as a cold baguette option. School dinners currently cost £2.35 per day. There are vegetarian/vegan options but these need to be ordered in advance. Dinner money payments are to be made via Pupil Asset.
Currently the Government Fund Free School Meals for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. These must still be ordered in the same way as paid lunches.
In England, children are eligible to receive this grant if their parents are in receipt of any of the following benefits: This grant also includes the option for Key Stage 2 children to have free school meals.
If you are in receipt of any of the above benefits then please complete the application form online. Paper applications will not be accepted.
If you would prefer, you can send a packed lunch into school for your child. Please make sure that your child has a lunch box marked with their name. Packed lunches are eaten alongside school meals under supervision in the school hall. We encourage healthy eating and have set a few guidelines for the content of packed lunches. These have been established for the benefit of all children and follow government advice:
Some children at school have nut allergies so we ask that no nuts or products containing nuts (e.g. peanut butter, nut bars) are included. This also includes chocolate spread which often contains a nut product.
Sweets, including chocolate, should not be sent in as part of a packed lunch – a single chocolate covered biscuit bar is fine.
Still drinks only please – no fizzy drinks or glass containers.
Please provide items that your child can open independently and avoid foods that are hard to manage. It is helpful if you make a snip in the wrapper of tightly packaged items.
