Jubilee Celebrations

We had a wonderful day celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, there was a wonderful atmosphere of celebration all day and everything felt incredibly patriotic.

We started the day with a Jubilee parade, with children showing off their outfits while marching and dancing down the playground with a Last Night of the Proms soundtrack. We were even lucky enough to have Queen Elizabeth herself in attendance! After the parade Mrs Gould led the school in singing the National Anthem!

We also planted our commemorative tree, as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy with the help of our collective worship leaders and members of the school council.  You can view this tree on the small lawn opposite our early years outside space. A commemorative plaque will be added soon.

At lunchtime, the kitchen provided a fantastic afternoon-tea style lunch which was enjoyed by the children and staff. We were able to have the whole school eat together with a street party atmosphere. Finally the day was topped off with a Collective Worship led by Glen McLellan focusing on the life of Queen Elizabeth II. We hope we provided a memorable day for the children to mark the once in a lifetime event of the Platinum Jubilee.
