Harvest 2024

The school community has once again come together to show support for an incredible cause. On Wednesday pupils donated a huge selection of items in designated colours. Throughout the day classes brought their donations to the dance studio and created our 2024 Harvest picture. This year we chose to create a huge pumpkin picture and it did not disappoint!

Through the day teachers spoke to pupils about why we were donating to Gatehouse and, alongside this, pupils learnt about Harvest Festival and why we are thankful at this time of year. At the end of the day Amanda Bloomfield from Gatehouse came to view the picture and to take the donations away to be distributed to those in need. All our pupils and parents were also given the opportunity to view the finished design before a small number helped us to load up Amanda’s van. We are once again so grateful for the generosity shown by our families and so pleased we can do our bit to support those in need as part of our Harvest Festival celebrations.

Everyone is now wondering what picture we might create next year, so far we have made a rainbow, a tractor, an apple tree and now this pumpkin, but we’ve not run out of ideas yet!

On Thursday our Harvest Festival continued with our church celebration at St Peters church with our morning service for Key Stage Two and our afternoon service for Early Years and Key Stage One. This year the service was fully led by our Year 6 Collective Worship leaders.
