End of Term Awards Summer 2024
We held our end of term awards today and were really pleased to present the following awards:
Progress Award
For making really good progress particularly in his reading and writing.
Sophia has made great progress with her maths. She now provides great explanations and mathematical thinking.
Early Years –Grace- Grace has made amazing progress across the year, especially in Summer Term. Grace has become more confident with reading and writing independently.
Lower Key Stage Two- Reagan- Has made great progress with his phonics and reading this year. Well done!
Effort Award
William always gives maximum effort to all he does and we’re so proud of him.
For always aspiring to be the best she can be.
For always giving 100% in all of his lessons.
Noah has put fantastic effort into his maths this year and has really enjoyed our learning. He has also made a brilliant effort to make new friends at Thurston this year.
Community Award
Our Community Award for this term was won by Harvey Wagner in Puma Class. Harvey was nominated twice, once by a member of the public because he was setting a good example to the community by picking up discarded litter at the New Green and she was really impressed by his caring initiative and Harvey’s second nomination was for being a calm and great friend in an emergency situation. Keep up the good work Harvey!
A special mention to Lola in Sun Bears and Charlotte in Penguins who were also nominated for their efforts in the local community. It’s lovely to see that they take such pride in our village.
Christian Value Award
This term our Christian Value award was presented to Frankie Mappledorm. Frankie shows great respect to all members of our school community. She is also a kind, supportive friend, always offering a helping hand to those in need.
Outstanding Fridays
All children who have received an outstanding raffle ticket this term were put into a draw today to win a £10 book token. The winners were:
Early Years: Ronnie Squire
Key Stage One: Polina Karpenko
Lower Key Stage Two: Oscar Lee
Upper Key Stage Two: Emily Boorman
Alex Cox in Year 6 was also given a book token as a special recognition for his incredibly hard work in the school library- Alex has volunteered hours of his time supporting Mrs Judd with keeping the library organised and tidy.
