We held our Christingle Service today with a twist of modern worship! Having made the decision that the paths were too icy for the walk to church we held the service outside around the Christmas tree, with fires roaring.
Reverend Ben was able to join us for the Service which was led by our Collective Worship leaders. The frosty conditions made for a magical twist on this traditional service, which was short and sweet to save frozen toes. Feedback from parents, pupils and staff was that this was a huge success and we may consider making this a new Thurston tradition.
Year 5 and 6 also took their Christingles into the hall to allow them to burn a little longer than the outside conditions allowed!
Our Collective Worship leaders have worked really hard this year leading our daily Collective Worship as well as our bigger services. They were rewarded with toasting some marshmallows on the fire pits after the Christingle Service.
